How to Download a New Remote Desktop File from cgmhost.emds.com

Prerequisites

  • Internet access
  • Supported browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox)
  • CGM/e-MDs portal username and password
  • Ability to run Remote Desktop (Windows built-in; Mac needs “Microsoft Remote Desktop” from App Store)

Steps

1. Go to the Portal

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Go to https://cgmhost.emds.com.

2. Sign In

  1. Enter your Username and Password.
  2. Click Sign In / Log In.

If login fails, verify credentials or contact support.


3. Find and Download the New RDP File

  1. After logging in, look for a section or link such as:
    • DownloadsRemote AccessRDP FileRemote Desktop File, or Application Access / Launch
  2. Click the link/button to Download RDP or Download Connection.
  3. If you see multiple environments (Production, Test, Training), select the correct one (usually Production).
  4. When prompted, choose Save (or Save As).
  5. Save the .rdp file to an easy location (for example, Desktop).

4. Remove the Old RDP Shortcut (Recommended)

  1. Locate your old RDP shortcut (usually on the Desktop).
  2. Right-click the old .rdp file.
  3. Click Delete and confirm.
  4. If needed, move/copy the new .rdp file to your Desktop so it’s easy to find.

5. Connect with the New RDP File

  1. Double-click the new .rdp file.
  2. If a security warning appears, click Connect / Yes (if appropriate for your environment).
  3. Enter your Remote Desktop credentials (may be domain or portal credentials).
  4. Click OK / Sign In.

You should now be connected to your hosted environment.
