Working with the Idea Space

Overview

The IDEA SPACE menu enable you to

  • submit your own ideas
  • share your ideas
  • vote on ideas submitted by others
  • comment on your own ideas or on ideas submitted by others
  • receive notifications about changes via email or on the dashboard.

The ideas can be created and organized by individual products.

​The dashboard of the Idea Space shows the 10 latest ideas, sorted by update date, considering both new and commented ideas.

The list of ideas​ can be searched, filtered, and sorted.

The CGM Product Management

  • will use the voting count to identify the most popular ideas among customers and
  • can assign specific labels to ideas based on their implementation status, e.g. New idea, Current functionality, In Development.

Dashboard Structure

Item Name Description
1 Create an Idea Enables you to create and submit a new idea for the CGM PORTAL.
2 My Ideas

Navigates to the "My Ideas" page which lists all the ideas that you have submitted and the ones that you have interacted with (voted or commented).

3 Products (Categories)

Provides the main categories (product groups) that are available for you to create ideas for.

If clicked, the system lists all ideas created for the respective category (= List Page).

4 Ideas by Status

Displays all idea statuses with a count indicating the number of ideas created per status.

If for a specific status no ideas exist, the status is not displayed.

Definition of status values:

  • Current Functionality: The idea describes a feature that already exists in the system. 
  • Duplicate: The idea has already been submitted by another user. 
  • Future Roadmap Consideration: The idea is being evaluated for inclusion in a future release. 
  • Implemented: The idea has been developed and is now live. 
  • In Development: The idea is currently being worked on. 
  • Need Clarification: The idea is unclear or lacks detail and needs more information from the submitter. 
  • New Idea: The idea has been newly submitted and is awaiting review. 
  • Not Planned: The idea will not be pursued or implemented. 
5 Latest Ideas

Displays the 5 latest ideas that were posted or updated by all users of the portal, sorted by update date.

6 Most Voted Ideas

Displays the top 5 most voted ideas by all users of the portal sorted by votes from highest to lowest.

List Page

If you click on a Main Category (Product Group) in the "Products" section of the Idea Space dashboard, the system displays a list page where all ideas created for the respective main category are displayed.

Item Name Description

1

Title

The title is limited to one line.

Clicking the title will navigate to the details page of the idea.

2 Description

Shows the first three lines of the idea description.

3 Creation Date and Time Indicates the date and the time the ideas was created.
4 Update Date and Time Indicates the date and the time the idea was updated, e.g., status change or comment added.
5 Voting option

Enables you to vote for the idea.

6 Voting Count

Indicates how many votes the idea has received.

7 Comment Count

Indicates how many comments the idea has received.

Click on the comment count to navigate to the details page of the idea.

8 Status

Indicates the current status of the idea.

  • Current Functionality: The idea describes a feature that already exists in the system.

9 Main Category

Indicates the product group for which the idea was created, e.g. Aprima.

10 Category

Indicates a (sub-)category that was assigned for additional context in addition to the main category.

It is only displayed if maintained.

 

Searching for an idea

You can search for a specific idea by entering the title as a search term. The search can be combined with the available filters.

Adjusting the number of entries per page

Click on the "View" button to adjust the number of entries that should be displayed on one page of the list.

  • 10 entries per page

  • 25 entries per page

  • 50 entries per page

Sorting the idea list

The list of ideas can be sorted by

  • Number of Votes (Most) (default)

  • Number of Votes (Least)

  • Creation Date (Newest)

  • Creation Date (Oldest)

  • Update Date (Soonest)

  • Update Date (Latest)

Filtering the idea list

The following filter options are available:

  1. Product: Provides all main categories. You can only select one main category at a time.
  2. Subcategory: Provides all subcategories that are available for the main category. You can select multiple subcategories.
    Note: The subcategory filter options will only be available if a main category has been selected.
  3. Status: Provides all available status values. You can select multiple statuses.
